Nia Vardalos and her husband, Ian Gomez, have welcomed a little girl into their lives.
The “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” star and her husband of 15 years adopted a toddler recently, according to a statement the couple released to E! Online.
“They are going public now to bring attention to National Adoption Month and the 500,000 children in foster care,” Vardalos’ rep said in a statement, which also encouraged people to visit adoptuskids.org. “Of these children, 129,000 are ‘legally free’ for adoption and waiting for a family.”
The 46-year-old actress joins a long list of stars who have opted to adopt including Angelina Jolie and Brad, Pitt, Ewan McGregor, Meg Ryan and Madonna.
