Guy Candy: Johnny Depp

LOS ANGELES (June 1, 2007) – There are plenty of reasons to swoon over Johnny Depp, not the least of which is his booty, his “Pirates” booty of course.While the Luke Skywalker loving Guy Candy readers had their fill from our Orlando Bloom/Will Turner profile last weekend, this installment is reserved for those who love a Han Solo styled bad boy, which as Capt. Jack Sparrow, Depp brings to life on sea faring legs in “Pirates Of the Caribbean: At World’s End.” Playing the highly effeminate, always inebriated, lovable rogue Capt. Jack Sparrow, Depp appeals to some of our deepest bad boy desires.

While Han was stuck in the rather un-attractive frozen state at the start of “Return of the Jedi,” Sparrow heats up the screen on the sandy dune that is Davey Jones’ Locker in “Pirates 3.” His first scene may find him in the throws of netherworld insanity, Jack’s looney state gives us more Captain for our coinage as he commands a crew of gorgeous, split personalities.Following his swift escape from lock up, Sparrow swaps allegiances as often as he swash buckles across the screen in those cute pirate pants and boots. And lest we forget our love for a man in leather, he does it all while wearing that sexy Pirate cap. Let’s be honest though, Depp could stand on screen in silence and we’d still line up to see it again. Luckily with “Pirates” we get nearly three full hours of Depp doing a heck of a lot more, so much more, we’re going to see it twice.Off screen of course, Depp is the darling dad to two beautiful children and partner to the lovely and very lucky Vanessa Paradis.
