Gwen Stefani Opens Up About Split From Gavin Rossdale: It Was ‘Months Of Torture’

Gwen Stefani is pretty much an open book these days.

In an interview for the September issue of Cosmopolitan, the music superstar got candid about
her high-profile split from
Gavin Rossdale.

When asked if she had begun
processing the breakup before it became public, Gwen said the answer is in her
music.

“All you have to do is
listen to every single song I’ve ever written
and it’s all there. It’s
an ongoing theme that I’ve had for a
long time,” she told the mag.

Despite channeling her emotions
creatively, Gwen said that “nobody,
except for my parents, the people involved, and whoever they told,”
know about the exact details of what really went down.

“Nobody would believe it
if I could really say what happened,” she added.

Gwen went on to describe the time surrounding the split as “months
and months of torture.”

Although
she went through some rough times with Gavin, Gwen has found love again with boyfriend
Blake Shelton, and revealed that she and her fellow “The
Voice“ coach already share something that she and Gavin
never had — a co-written song!

Gwen said she was hesitant at first
to collaborate with Blake because of the personal difficulties they were both
experiencing at the time.

“We were both having trust
issues, as you would if you were us. It was like, I have so many problems.
How can I now be getting into another potentially huge problem? What am I doing?” she said.

But in the end, it all worked out.

 “We were like, ‘We wrote a
song together! This is crazy!'” she said.
