Gwyneth Paltrow made her live television singing debut on the 44th Annual Country Music Awards on Wednesday night and she told Access Hollywood that she got a little help from a few of music superstar friends.
“I kind of asked my girl singer friends [for advice,]” Gwyneth told Access Hollywood prior to her performance in Nashville, where the Oscar winner sang “Country Strong,” from her upcoming movie of the same name.
“I asked Faith [Hill] a lot of questions… and Beyonce actually too,” Gwyneth explained. “I studied Beyonce a lot and her concerts for her kind of confidence… and I’m lucky that I know some singers in real life.”
Gwyneth’s fellow country stars weighed in on her performance backstage after the show, telling Access they loved seeing her strut her country skills.
“She did a great job… it was awesome, she has a great voice,” CMA album of the year winner Miranda Lambert told Access.
Entertainer of The Year recipient and CMA co-host Brad Paisley told Access he was shocked by the actress’ debut.
“She looked like she’s been doing this her whole life… when did she find time to go out and learn how to be a singer? I’m floored!” he told Access backstage, adding that she should consider leaving Hollywood for Nashville. “Forget about acting. Hang with us, we’re nicer.”
