Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Pending Record Deal & Oscar Performance Nerves

Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her stunning voice, comedic ability and sexy dance moves in her guest appearance on “Glee” back in November and the music community has since accepted the actress with open arms. Now, the Academy Award-winning actress says she’s in talks to make her singing career official.

“We’re talking about it now,” Gwyneth told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush of a possible record deal on the red carpet at the 2011 Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday. Billy. “So, we’ll see.”

The 38-year-old mother of two revealed she initially accepted the role of fun loving substitute teacher Holly Holliday on “Glee” because she wanted a departure from her typically heavy roles.

“My parts were usually quite serious and I was looking for something fun and different to do,” Gwyneth told Billy. “When [‘Glee’ co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] asked me to be on ‘Glee,’ I thought, ‘How much fun it would be to sing and dance and just be ridiculous and silly?’ I’m just having so much fun.”

While filming her “Glee” return – set for March 8 — Gwyneth got a bit too close to her “Glee” co-star Matthew Morrison’s personal regions, something Billy actually revealed to the Oscar winner on Sunday.

“During the tango, Matthew Morrison let it out that you were dangerously close to his bojangles?” Billy told Gwyneth, about his recent conversation with Mr. Schue.

“I didn’t notice, but you know, with the tango, there’s proximity there,” Gwyneth smiled. “He’s amazing. He’s such a good dancer and he’s so talented.”

After playing a country music star in “Country Strong” and wowing “Gleeks” worldwide with her catchy version of Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” on the show, Gwyneth was invited to perform at the 2010 Country Music Awards, as well as with Cee Lo himself during the 2011 Grammy Awards. However, the blond beauty said her performance at the Academy Awards remains the most nerve-wracking.

“This [performance] feels hard because the Grammys [were] so much fun and it was silly,” Gwyneth told Billy. “This is like, very serious. I’m like, ‘Geez, it’s a serious song and I’m by myself up there.’ I hope it’s alright!”
