Happy Endings Star Elisha Cuthbert Engaged To NHL Star Dion Phaneuf

It’s a happy time for “Happy Endings” star Elisha Cuthbert and Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf.

The 29-year-old actress, who hails from Calgary, got engaged to her NHL player boyfriend over the weekend, according to People.

An Us Weekly source, who was on hand at New Glasgow Lobster in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where the couple celebrated their engagement, also dished on the couple’s big news.

“Elisha looked very happy and pleased. She was showing off her ring to her family and the wait staff,” the source told the mag. “The female wait staff were gushing about the ring saying it was ‘quite impressive’ and ‘huge.’ At one point, Dion and Elisha both got up and gave a speech and thanked everyone for being there and celebrating this exciting time with them.”

The restaurant also announced the happy news, Tweeting, “Last night we had the privilege of hosting a surprise #engagement party for #dionphaneuf and #elishacuthbert. Congrats to them both”

Dion, 27, hails from Edmonton and previously played for the Calgary Flames.

Elisha is best known for playing the often hilarious Alex Kerkovich on her ABC sitcom and she also played Kim Bauer on “24.” Her big screen credits include “Old School,” “The Girl Next Door” and “Love Actually.”

The couple began dating in 2008.
