‘Harold & Kumar’ Star Kal Penn Robbed At Gunpoint In Washington, D.C.

“Harold & Kumar” star Kal Penn recently announced he was headed back to Hollywood and leaving his White House gig behind.

Unfortunately, an armed assailant had a special going away gift for the actor – a stick up.

Penn was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday in Washington, D.C., a rep for the comedian confirmed to Access Hollywood.

As first reported by TMZ, Penn was walking in the city around 1:20 AM on Tuesday when an armed robber held him and took his wallet, along with other personal items.

When contacted by Access, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department was not immediately available for comment on the incident.

Earlier this month, Penn announced he would be leaving his job as associate director of public engagement under President Barack Obama’s administration, and heading back to Hollywood to reprise his role as “Kumar” in the upcoming third installment in the “Harold & Kumar” stoner film franchise.

While filming was slated to begin this summer, it was unclear when he would officially step down from his political post.
