Harry Potter Follows Spider-Man’s Lead With Tokyo Premiere

TOKYO, Japan(May 22, 2007) — The world premiere of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the fifth movie based on the best-selling books about the boy wizard, will be held June 28 in Tokyo.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays teen wizard Harry Potter in the films, is slated to attend, Warner Bros. Entertainment’s Japan Unit said Tuesday.

The world premiere of “Spider-Man 3” was held in Tokyo last month.

“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” directed by David Yates, will have its London premiere July 3. The film franchise is based on the best-selling novels by J.K. Rowling.

The movie is scheduled for release in the U.S. on July 13, and will open to general audiences in Japan on July 21
