Harry Potter’s Rebel Yell

“It’s quite a frightening time at Hogwarts this time around,” said Rupert Grint, who plays Harry’s best friend, Ron. “Voldemort’s come back. Everyone’s a little on edge.”

“On an emotional level it’s a lot deeper, I think,” Radcliffe added.

Emotional indeed! Voldemort’s not the young wizard’s only threat, as Harry faces a whole new enemy: teen angst!

Harry must deal with a crush on his classmate, Cho Chang (played by newcomer Katie Leung).

And with a first crush, comes Harry’s first kiss!

It was a nerve-wracking experience for both Harry and 17 year-old Daniel Radcliffe.

“Sometimes they do a closed set with things, so that anyone who doesn’t have to be on set, isn’t,” Radcliffe explained. “They did that for that take, which was quite cool, because I think [director David Yates] knew we were both nervous!”

It turns out Harry Potter is all grown up off screen as well! Daniel recently appeared on the London stage in “Equus”…in the nude!

“After the first couple of times you do it, you really don’t care anymore,” he said of the naked experience. “You just do it after that.”

But there was much more than nudity involved in Radcliffe’s stage performance.

“‘Equus’ was a fantastic opportunity for me,” he told Access. “I trained for two years to be able to do it, because I didn’t want to be one of those actors that kind of saunters onto the stage from film, expecting they’ll be able to do it.”

It’s a refreshing and mature attitude from an actor who only turns 18 later this month!

So is he planning a blowout Hollywood style bash?

“Hopefully you won’t be reading about it,” he remarked. “I think it will be relatively low key.”
