Hayden Panettiere Seeking Further Treatment For Postpartum Depression: ‘Wish Me Luck’

Hayden
Panettiere is seeking further help for her postpartum depression.

The
“Nashville” star shared the news via Twitter on Thursday, telling
fans that the illness has “impacted every aspect” of her life.

“Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life,” she wrote. “Wish me luck!”

Hayden’s
road to recovery began last October, when she voluntarily checked herself into
a rehabilitation center for PPD – which her “Nashville” character,
Juliette Barnes, was also experiencing on the show.

 The
26-year-old had previously been vocal about the difficulties she faced after
giving birth to her daughter Kaya in December 2014, telling Kelly Ripa and
Michael Strahan on “Live With Kelly and Michael” last fall that
PPD  is “something that needs to be talked about” because
“women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”

At
the Critics’ Choice Awards in January, Hayden spoke with Access Hollywood’s Liz
Hernandez about her “empowering” progress and said she “felt
like a different person” since completing treatment.

“I feel
like I don’t have to hide myself as much anymore,” Hayden said, revealing that she’s
“always felt a little socially awkward.”

She went on to express a grounded optimism about her future,
and explained that she understands her recovery is an ongoing process.

“You’re bound to make mistakes,” she added.
“You have to find that balance, and I’m still trying to find that
balance.”

It looks like Hayden will be
able to take the time she needs. Deadline reported on Thursday that ABC has
canceled “Nashville” after four seasons.
