Healthy Hollywood: Debi Mazar’s Valentine’s Day Dessert!

Actress Debi Mazar and her husband Gabriele Corcos know cooking together fires up their relationship. The couple shares their love of cooking and recipes on The Cooking Channel’s Extra Virgin.

Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to spend time in the kitchen together and whip up something yummy! After all, a home cooked meal is a lot sexier than one shared at a restaurant.

Debi and Gabriele shared with Healthy Hollywood their recipe for Panna Cotta.

Panna Cotta
(serves 4)
Ingredients
1 cup brewed Lavazza Gran Selezione
1 1/4 cup heavy cream, divided
1/4 cup sugar
1 pkg. gelatin
1/2 tsp. amaretto (optional)

Ganache Glaze
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 oz. dark chocolate, chopped

Prepare four 6oz. small bowls by spraying with cooking oil. In a small sauce pan, over medium heat, whisk together the brewed Lavazza Gran Selezione, one cup of heavy cream, sugar and amaretto. Allow to come to a simmer.

In a small bowl, whisk together remaining 1/4 cup of heavy cream with gelatin, until the texture is similar to a firm gel. When coffee mixture comes to a simmer, remove from heat and add gelatin mixture. Whisk until gelatin is completely melted,

Divide the panna cotta base equally into prepared bowls. Transfer to refrigerator and allow to set for at least 4 hours.

To make ganache. In a small saucepan, bring heavy cream to a simmer. Pour over chopped chocolate and allow to sit for 3 minutes. Whisk until chocolate is melted. Set aside.

To serve. Remove panna cotta from refrigerator. Gently use fingers or small knife to pull if away from the mold and transfer to serving plate. Drizzle generously with ganache glaze.
