Healthy Hollywood: Fab Food Friday – Stars Like Vanessa Hudgens Love Smoothies!

Smoothies are the ultimate go-to health drink! Celebs, like Vanessa, Drew Barrymore, Katy Perry, and Oprah, all get a major nutritional gulp with a smoothie – and so should you!

Smoothies are a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals, plus they’re so simple to make. “You can whip up a smoothie in a few minutes, and because it is blended, it is in effect “pre-digested” so your body virtually doesn’t have to do any work to assimilate the nutrients,” states celebrity nutritionist and author of “The Beauty Detox Solution,” Kimberly Snyder.

Kimberly, who works with Olivia Wilde and Owen Wilson, also adds, “You can have a highly nutritious meal by sipping on your smoothie at work or on your way to work, while you’re checking your emails or while you’re getting your kid(s) ready for school.” Healthy and convenient – now that’s a winning combination.

Smoothies – especially green ones – are the most efficient way to get a major dose of wellness in a low calorie sip. Yet, before you start gathering your greens and begin to blend, Kimberly has a few suggestions – never mix fruit with protein because it can cause bloating and it’s important to chew your smoothie a bit for the best digestion.

To get started all you need is a blender, such as the high speed one from Vitamix. “Not only do smoothies made in the Vitamix come out smoother and tastier, it also saves a ton of time in prep time and cleanup,” advises Kimberly.

Plus, the Vitamix peeps have tons of smoothie recipes, and they’ve shared a few of their favorites with Healthy Hollywood.
