Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Ali Larter’s Post-Baby Workout!

Just four months after giving birth, and the former “Heroes” star is already looking sensational. If she weren’t so darn sweet, I would have to be incredibly envious of the way her body bounced back into her pre-pregnancy shape.

Yet, Ali, who revealed to Healthy Hollywood, she gained 45 pounds, says she still has a few pounds to go. “I think it’s a challenge for all new moms to, kind of you know, [get back to] their pre-baby weight.”

Healthy Hollywood caught up with Ali, 35, at the launch of Reebok’s RealFlex footwear in Manhattan. Ali’s new pair of sneakers will certainly come in handy. She revealed she’s doing Pilates a couple times a week and loves to get outdoors and run or hike. “I think it’s important take time for yourself – you know get the stress out – the pressures of life can be, you know, a lot for everyone. Instead of going, ugh, I don’t want to work out, I try to flip that switch in my brain and go this is your time to now get rid of the problems, let the stress go…just get out in nature,” explains Ali.

For those new moms who don’t have someone to watch their baby, Ali suggests “put him in a stroller and just walk for a couple of hours you know, it just really gives you the positive endorphins.”

Ali also reveals her post-baby shape is due partially to eating healthy. She adds, “you know as a nursing mom, you can‘t diet, but at the same time I’m not eating chocolate peanut butter Haagen-Dazs. I had like good frozen yogurt last week and that’s my indulgence now, it’s so boring, but you know, I’m trying to get back in shape.” I have a feeling Ali will be back to her super svelte self in no time!

As for heading back to work, Ali says she’s looking at a few summer movie projects. Like most new moms, she’s still having a hard time leaving her little boy at home. She reveals, “it’s absolutely traumatic in every way and I just feel like, you know, all the working moms out there know how difficult it is. I think it’s the great equalizer in life once you have a child, so it’s important to work. I want my baby to proud of me and, you know, I believe in things and want to inspire him, but at the same time I just want to be home.”
