Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Get Your Best Body Now!

It’s Week 2 of the New Year and you still haven’t gotten your butt to the gym? No more excuses!

It’s time to get motivated and start sculpting your bod for 2011. Get a bikini pic of a svelte star, like Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz or Halle Berry, pin it to your fridge and be inspired to transform your shape.

Need more motivation? The January/February issue of Women’s Health rounds-up the top fitness gurus and gets their sure-fire pound-shedding secrets.

Valerie Waters, who shapes up celebs like Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, and Cindy Crawford, reveals in Women’s Health her tips to getting a slammin’ bod in no time!

Val’s Top Tips:

1. Make every second count.
When I’m training Jennifer (Garner), it’s one move after another – no resting. That keeps her heart rate up so she’s burning tons of calories during the entire strength-training workout.

2. Lunge, Lunge, Lunge!
Reverse lunges are the best move to tone butt and thighs. Try one: Step back with one leg and bend both knees until your front thigh is parallel to the floor. Pause and then push back to starting position.

3. Learn to row.
Seated or bent-over rows are great for getting you into that strapless dress fast. They’ll sculpt your arms and tone your middle and upper back.

4. Whip out a measuring tape.
Don’t rely on just the scale – it’s not the best barometer of progress. Working out replaces fat with muscle (which is heavier), so the scale may not budge but your jean size does. Every four to six weeks, measure your waist and thighs to track results.

Women’s Health spotlights the secrets of five other celebrity trainers, including Katy Perry’s butt-kicker, Harley Pasternak. Check out their secrets and more at www.womenshealthmag.com.
