Healthy Hollywood has tried and heard about a lot of different workouts. But, this is a first – the blender bike!
I got introduced to this meals on wheels at the International Spa Media event here in New York City. Apparently, Austin-based spa Travaasa salon offers a cycling class that also teaches you how to makes smoothies. Talk about the ultimate all-in-one healthy experience.
“You need to work a little bit to have your smoothie at our spa,” reveals Travassa marketing manager Adam Hawthrone.
Adam says most smoothies can be fully blended on the bike in a few minutes. “The trick is to start with a little bit of juice before adding in the veggies and fruits. This helps to free up the blade and makes it a lot easier to blend.” If you’re up for a challenge, go ahead and add lots of ice.
Healthy Hollywood hopped on the bike to give it a spin. I can’t say I broke out in a sweat making my smoothie, but it did somehow taste better knowing it came from my own pedal power.
