Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Sweat For Your Candidate!

No matter which candidate you’re rooting for, it’s important to exercise your right to vote! So, get out there and hit the polls.

This presidential race has folks nationwide fired up and anxious over who will be our next President – President Obama or Mitt Romney. So, if you’re feeling the need to let off some steam, why not work it out – literally!

The exercise website, FITiST, has recruited a team of celebrity fitness destinations in LA and New York City to create a workout package curated for each candidate. The four-class package costs $115 in NY and $85 in LA.

If you don’t live in those areas, get inspired by the type of classes to get your Presidential sweat on!

Body By Obama:

Velocity Sports: Hit the gym for a workout on the basketball court. President Obama loves his time on the court.

Barry’s Bootcamp: This program combines interval training and resistance exercises. It’s the ultimate sweat fest and perfectly suited for athletic types like President Obama.

SLT: This is a pilates-hybrid class that helps create long and lean muscles. Get the enviably sculpted arms of Michelle Obama.

Flywheel: This a spin class for the competitive type. The on-bike technology tracks everything about your ride and the real-time competition between bikers.

The Romney Regimen:

Aerospace: Boxing and fighting class. Mitt has been known to throw a few punches along the campaign trail.

Mushin: Offers a variety of mixed martial arts classes. Perfect for Mitt’s fighting spirit.

Virayoga: Yoga is an awesome way to de-stress and certainly both candidates could use a Zen moment.

Flywheel: This is a spin class for the competitive type. The on-bike technology tracks everything about your ride and the real-time competition between bikers.

Both candidates also carry a strong fitness platform of their own. According to an article in the New York Times in 2010, President Obama works out six times a week. These workouts consist of 45 minutes of either cardio or weight training workouts – two cardio and four weight training sessions per week.

As for Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, he loves to run. He is diligent about running 3 miles every morning.
