Healthy Hollywood: Wellness Wednesday – Kate Middleton’s Bridal Prep Plan!

Just 30 days until the Royal Wedding! We all know the bride-to-be is scrambling to get ready and look her best for her celebrated walk down the aisle.

No pressure here – only millions of people worldwide will be watching the royal couple say “I do.”

Plus, style-watchers are all holding their breath and waiting to find out (and critique) how Kate will look on her big day.

While, Kate has the eyes of the world on her, every bride-to-be feels the pressure to look her best on her wedding day. Dermatologist Dr. Jeanine Downie, of New Jersey’s image Dermatology, has some great tips on how Kate and other brides-to-be can put their best face forward.

Here’s Dr. Downie’s wedding day prep plan fit for a Princess!

6 – 8 months before wedding:
*Get started on a diet and exercise plan – decrease your sugar and caffeine intake as well as increase exercise. Exercise and a healthy diet will not only help you look good in your dress, but also help your skin.

*Go in for a dermatological evaluation to find out what procedures are recommended for you so you can plan accordingly.

*Protect and renew skin with a moisturizer with SPF for day and a potent hydrator at night. I recommend Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50 in the morning and SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex at night.

4 – 6 months before wedding:
*Renew your skin for the big day with a peel. Peels work best done in a series of 4 – 6, about a month apart, so it’s important to start early. I recommend going for a medium level peel to help even out skin tone and improve skin’s texture.

*I’ve always noticed that Kate Middleton has amazing lashes. Other brides-to-be can get gorgeous, long lashes like hers with a lash growth treatment, such as Latisse, that will give you longer, thicker lashes in 16 weeks.

6 weeks before wedding:
*Go in for any fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane. Juvederm is great for filling in fine lines and wrinkles and I recommend injecting some Restylane under the eyes to brighten under eye circles.

*Begin using a hand cream day and night; try philosophy hands of hope hand and cuticle cream.

1 – 2 weeks before wedding:
*Use a product like SkinMedica Redness Relief CalmPlex to help reduce redness or irritation for even-toned skin on the big day.

*Work to manage breakouts this close to your wedding day.

*Continue your exercise plan to look and feel your best as well as help keep your skin under control.

Days before wedding:
*Increase your water intake and no alcohol until the wedding day. Both will help you to avoid dryness and keep your skin looking its best.
