Hearing Continues In Dannielynn DNA Case

A hearing over the paternity of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter wrapped up without revealing the paternity of the child’s father.

Six-month-old Dannielynn Smith has been the center of a paternity suit which is expected to continue until at least next week, lawyers for two of the parties in the dispute said Tuesday.

Photographer Larry Birkhead, a former boyfriend of Smith’s has been fighting in California, Florida and the Bahamas to prove he is the father of Dannielynn. Meanwhile Howard K. Stern, Anna Nicole’s longtime companion is listed on the birth certificate as the baby’s daddy.

The child’s DNA was tested March 21 but the results have not been revealed.

Parties involved in the paternity case are prohibited by Bahamian legal rules from discussing the case.

The baby, whose full name is Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, could inherit millions from the estate of Smith’s late husband, J. Howard Marshall II.

Smith had been fighting the Texas oil tycoon’s family over his estimated US$500 million fortune since his death in 1995.

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed and died Feb. 8 in Florida from an accidental overdose.
