Heidi Klum On J.Lo Missing ‘Runway’ Finale: ‘She Is Fantastic, I Believe Her’

Jennifer Lopez might have been forced to miss the “Project Runway” season finale due to a foot injury, but host Heidi Klum doesn’t feel that the singer stepped on her toes by pulling out at the last minute.

Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell caught up with a stunning Heidi Klum on the red carpet just before she co-hosted the 2008 Emmys with fellow reality show host nominees Ryan Seacrest, Tom Bergeron, Howie Mandel and Jeff Probst.

Billy asked Heidi why J.Lo was forced to miss her Emmy-nominated reality show.

“I don’t know,” Heidi said of the Jennifer’s absence. “To be honest, I only heard what I know from her team. She couldn’t come because she had a foot injury.”

Billy pressed, asking if Heidi was surprised that J.Lo competed in a triathlon two days after she canceled.

“I don’t know…what can you say? We were very sad that she wasn’t there,” she said.

Heidi noted that the contestants were particularly looking forward to Jennifer coming to Bryant Park, but no one from “Runway” has any hard feelings towards the singer.

“I think that she is fantastic, and who knows what happened. She says she had a foot injury, I believe her, ” Heidi told Billy and Nancy.

Though the fifth season of “Project Runway” ended without a guest celebrity judge (Tim Gunn stepped in for J.Lo), Heidi told Access that fans can expect more famous fashionistas in the coming sixth season when the show switches to Lifetime. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, one of those stars will be Lindsay Lohan — but what exactly the young actress will do on next season’s premiere episode is a surprise Heidi would not reveal.

”[Lindsay] did the new episode…and you’ll have to see what exactly happens,” Heidi told Access’ Billy and Nancy with a smile.

As previously reported on Access, the tentative premiere date for “Runway” on Lifetime is January 20, 2009, while the Season Five finale airs October 15 on Bravo.
