‘Hero’ Hayden Ready To Catch ‘Fireflies’ With Julia Roberts

Hayden Panettiere is ditching her cheerleader outfit and her superpowers in favor of catching some “Fireflies.”

The “Heroes” star has signed on to join the cast of the film “Fireflies in the Garden,” alongside Julia Roberts, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film, directed by Dennis Lee, also stars Willem Dafoe, Ioan Gruffudd, Carrie-Anne Moss, Ryan Reynolds and Emily Watson.

Loosely based on Lee’s life, “Fireflies” explores the complexities of love and commitment in a family torn apart when faced with an unexpected tragedy.

Shooting is slated to begin Tuesday in Austin.

Hayden’s other film credits include “Bring It On: All Or Nothing,” “Ice Princess,? “Raising Helen,” and “Racing Stripes.” She also did voice work for the animated feature “A Bug’s Life.”

She currently plays Claire Bennet on NBC’s hit drama “Heroes.”
