'Heroes Reborn': Tim Kring Hoping For New Slogan; Gives Status Update On New Series

"Heroes Reborn" is still being developed, but creator Tim Kring said he would be open to seeing another slogan for the reboot of the NBC show.

"Save the cheerleader, save the world," was the slogan for the original "Heroes" series, and after the panel for his new USA show, "DIG," on Monday at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverly Hills, AccessHollywood.com asked Kring if he'd like another catch phrase for "Heroes Reborn."

"You know, I hope so. Those things are -- [it’s] very hard to catch lighting in a jar. That was Adam Armus, one of the writers, in the writers room, who blurted it out during the story breaking session and we wrote it on the wall and the next thing we know the promo department ran with it," Kring told Access. "And so those things are, yeah, lightning in a jar ideas… and sometimes when you try to find them, you don't."

Last month, NBC revealed that HRG (Jack Coleman) is coming back for the new, 13-episode miniseries.

"That was a that was a discussion with NBC about that character, and so the truth is I don't have a lot to say about it," Kring said about the status of "Heroes Reborn,” when Access asked. "It's an ever changing thing in my brain as to what it should be and there is not a tremendous amount to say about it at this point."

And he hasn't thought about anyone else he wants to bring back from the original cast.

"No," he said. "It's primarily about the new."

Kring is currently working on the six-episode, "DIG," with co-creator/fellow Executive Producer Gideon Raff ("Homeland"). The limited edition series stars Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche in a "Da Vinci's Code"-like mystery.

"DIG," however, is Kring's priority right now.

"This is very much my focus right now. So, when I'm done with this and when it's a position here I can step away, that's when I'll really start to focus on the reboot, " he said.

"DIG" premieres later this fall on USA.
