He’s Back! Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs On To Film Project

Less than two months after Arnold Schwarzenegger announced through his lawyer he was postponing his future film plans, he’s back.

The actor has signed up for “The Last Stand,” a thriller from Lionsgate, The Wrap confirmed on Monday.

“The Last Stand” follows the story of a drug lord who breaks out of a courthouse and makes a run for the Mexican border.

While Arnold may be getting back to work, the film is not due out until 2013.

Kim Jee-Woon is reportedly set to direct the project.

Back in May, Arnold’s entertainment lawyer issued a statement that he was taking time away from films to focus on “personal matters.”

“At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice,” Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Schwarzenegger, said in a statement posted on the Creative Artists Agency website back in mid-May.

“Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes ‘Cry Macho,’ ‘The Terminator’ franchise and other projects under consideration,” the statement continued. “We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.”
