Hilary Duff Shoots Down Pregnancy Rumors: ‘Maybe I Should Start Wearing Tighter Clothes!’

Hilary Duff is not joining the recent Hollywood baby boom – at least, not yet.

While tabloid reports surfaced this week suggesting the former “Lizzie McGuire” star was pregnant (Star magazine quoted a “close friend” of the actress as saying she and husband Mike Comrie were expecting their first child), Hilary shot down the rumors to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush.

“Nope, not pregs!” Hilary told Billy in a text message on Wednesday morning. “Be nice to know who my ‘friend’ is though that is telling people that.”

Hilary and Mike tied the knot in August in a private ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif. The couple first met in 2007 at a resort in Idaho. Comrie – a pro hockey player — proposed in Hawaii in February 2010.

In her text message to Billy, Hilary suggested that perhaps she could use her wardrobe to further quash the baby buzz.

“Maybe I should start wearing some tighter clothes lol,” she wrote.

Later in the morning, Hilary also hit up her Twitter page to deny the rumors of a child on the way.

“Wow what a way to wake up and find out your pregs! It’s just a rumor guys! Not true. But thanks for all the good wishes! Lol,” she Tweeted.

In September, AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman caught up with Hilary on the set of NBC’s “Community,” where the actress expressed interest in having kids – one day.

“Obviously we’re really excited to have kids in the future, but not anytime soon,” she explained at the time. “I still want to work and still feel really driven.”
