Hilary Duff Talks Motherhood & Losing Baby Weight

New mom Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie are ecstatic about their 2-month-old son Luca Cruz Comrie, who the star says surprises her every day.

“He’s a lot bigger now, he’s just growing by the day and I’m having such a great time,” Hilary told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday’s Access Hollywood Live. “It’s like every day he does something new and exciting.”

Following in his mother’s footsteps, little Luca is learning how to mug for the camera.

“He’s smiling up a storm, which is really exciting,” Hilary, who often posts photos of her son on Twitter, said. “He’s only giggled a few times, which is kind of a bummer.”

The proud mom, 24, also explained where her baby’s name came from.

“We loved the name Luke and then we kind of came up with Luca and Cruz, they were [both] first name options. And when you have your list in front of you, you’re like, jumbling it all together and seeing what works and we just kind of came up with it,” she explained. “He kind of sounds like a little Brazilian baby or an Italian baby.”

As for her baby weight, the star is chipping away at it, but not worried too much about dropping the pounds right away.

“I am working out and I’m trying and I’m trying not to [obsess],” she told Billy and Kit. “Everyone wants their body back, but all in time. It took nine months to get there and so hopefully, it won’t take that long to get it off, but I’m doing it slowly.”
