Hines Ward ‘Just Ecstatic’ Over ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Win

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and new “Dancing with the Stars” champ Hines Ward was still soaking up his big win on Tuesday night when Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush caught with the new ballroom champ.

“Man, this is crazy!” Hines, who performed a Steelers-inspired samba with partner Kym Johnson for their final dance, said

“Any couple tonight was well deserving of winning this trophy and for us, I’m just ecstatic that here we are,” he continued. “I didn’t want to let Kym down and now she has a second mirrorball trophy, it’s awesome!”

The football star said he felt the pressure from fellow competitor Kirstie Alley and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“Kirstie could have taken it,” he explained to Billy of this year’s runner-up. “She’s been incredible all season and I guess all of the fans got us through, especially Pittsburgh and Steeler Nation. I think they really voted hard for us last night.”

The athlete was also happy to dance for his mom, who was front and center for his big win.

“It was fitting the way we ended… that song was a tribute to my mom, it was about a celebration and what better way to win the mirrorball than having her there in the front row and all the confetti coming down… it was a great ending to our season and I owe everything to Kym,” he told Billy.

And where will Hines keep his new trophy?

“Right next to my Super Bowl MVP trophy!” he added.
