Homeland: Damian Lewis Talks Season 2 Finale

“Homeland” star Damian Lewis says award show accolades (the actor was nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG Award this week) do not mean his character, Nicholas Brody, is safe.

“If ever a show was going to kill off a nominated actor, it’s this show. They don’t care, they hold no prisoners, which I think is fantastic and part of the show’s success,” he told Billy Bush on Thursday’s “The Billy Bush Show,” when asked if his nomination ensured that fans would see him in Season 3.

“There are people who think Brody’s time is up, that could be it,” Damian added. Let’s face it, there’s a high body count on ‘Homeland,’ but we’ll have to see how it pans out,” the actor teased.

“I have post-traumatic stress disorder from just filming [the finale],” the 44-year-old British actor joked. “So I can’t even remember what happens at the end of Season 2.”

Is there a possibility that Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody will end up together? According to Damian, don’t expect to see the pair to settle down with white picket fence in the ‘burbs.

“Carrie and Brody, buying a house, getting a mortgage – I don’t know,” he told Billy. “How long is that going to last?! I don’t see that being a quiet and peaceful marriage. I’m not sure if that will happen.”

Adding, “But there might be some more fun and games.”

The “Homeland” Season 2 finale airs Sunday at 10 PM ET/PT on Showtime.
