‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ Cast Announced – Blagojevich Could Be Involved Still

NBC officially announced the cast for “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” on Friday morning and it includes stars from film, music, sports, reality TV – and possibly one impeached politician.

Cast members will include Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (stars of MTV’s “The Hills”), NBA great and TV personality John Salley (“Best Damned Sports Show Period”), supermodel and reality TV star Janice Dickinson (“The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency”), 2007 “American Idol” contestant Sanjaya Malakar, actor Stephen Baldwin (“The Usual Suspects”) and professional wrestler and beauty queen Torrie Wilson. Three more celebrity contestants will be named next week along with the hosts of the show.

“I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” will drop 10 celebrities into the heart of the jungles of Costa Rica to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. The celebrities will battle it out in tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. Viewers will decide which celebrities stay or go and the last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning a substantial cash prize for their favorite charity.

Though a judge rules that impeached Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich could not travel to Costa Rica to film the series, producers announced the politician could still show up on the show, saying, “We’re working on all sorts of ways that Rod Blagojevich might still be involved.”

Blagojevich, who was on hand for the announcement in Los Angeles, said he’s very excited about the possibility of appearing on the NBC show in some capacity.

“We’re discussing potential options, but I will not appeal judge’s decision [to limit my travel.]” He told reporters. “[But], I hope I can participate in some way”

Janice Dickinson, who has already appeared on the 2007 British version of the reality show, told reporters her life as a mother and super model will give her an edge.

“I’ve practically already won it!” Janice exclaimed from the stage.

But, Janice might have some competition from Heidi and Spencer – according to the couple’s “Hills” co-stars.

“I would say, Heidi’s the more competitive person. Spencer just kind of melts whenever he’s around her so I bet she’d win,” Stephanie Pratt, Spencer’s little sister told Access Hollywood at “The Hills” PaleyFest09 panel Tuesday night.

However, Stephanie’s “Hills” fellow cast member, Lo Bosworth, thinks Spencer could be the king of the jungle.

“I think that Spencer will probably win. My money’s on Spencer to take it all,” Lo told Access.

“I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” will air at 8 PM over four weeks in June. The new series will debut as a two-hour television event on Monday, June 1 (8-10 PM) and will follow with broadcasts on Mondays through Thursdays (8-9 PM) for the first three weeks. During the fourth week of June, the series will be telecast Monday through Wednesday (8-9 PM) with the finale on Wednesday, June 24 (8-9 PM).

Also, NBC and MTV announced that each Sunday, beginning June 7, MTV will air a marathon of the week’s episodes including never before seen footage and commentary from cast members in real time, providing an enhanced viewing experience for die-hard fans.
