Isaiah Washington: My ‘Grey’s’ Return Will ‘Blow You Away’

Isaiah Washington says fans will be reeling (in a good way) when he returns to “Grey’s Anatomy.”

The 50-year-old actor appeared on Access Hollywood Live, where he spoke about coming back to the ABC series he left 2007.

“I read the script last night. … The script is so amazing, it will blow you away,” Isaiah, who is also starring on The CW’s “The 100,” told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.

“Shonda Rimes is genius,” he said of the show’s creator. “I’m unbelievably humble and over the moon with what I read last night.”

In fact, the actor thinks the episode – which is tied to Sandra Oh’s exit from the series – will have a lasting effect.

“I had to stop and say, ‘OK, now what? What is the world going to do after this?’” he continued. “It’s going to blow you away!”

Isaiah left the series in a less-than-positive way after he used an anti-gay epithet directed towards co-star T.R. Knight. His character, Dr. Preston Burke, also left Dr. Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, at the alter as they were about to married. But his return to the medical drama will be much more optimistic.

“It’s all positive. It’s so amazing,” he teased. “It’s just beyond!”

First up, catch Isaiah on “The 100,” which premieres Wednesday night at 9/8c on The CW.
