Don’t hold it against Britney Spears that her new album’s not out until March.

On Thursday, the pop superstar revealed that her album’s first single, “Hold It Against Me,” would officially be released next Tuesday, January 11.

Britney posted the cover art for the new single late Thursday afternoon on TwitPic, following an unfinished leak of the new song, which hit the Internet Thursday morning.

“Heard an early demo of my new single leaked,” Britney Tweeted. “If u think that’s good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday. -Brit”

In early December 2010, on her 29th birthday, Britney’s manager revealed that her seventh album is complete and that it would be out in March.

“My fans mean the world to me & waking up to all of your wishes really made me smile, so here’s something that I hope will make you smile… I’m almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March. I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!” the pop star wrote to her fans.
