Jacqueline Bisset had many Golden Globe Awards viewers scratching their heads after she took to the stage to accept her Best Actress in a mini-series award and gave a bizarre speech.
After taking a fair amount of time to reach the podium – and stopping to kiss Jon Voight on the way – she gave a rambling speech that included dropping “sh**” on stage.
“I want to thank the people who have given me joy. Like my mother, who used to say, ‘Go to hell and don’t come back,” the 69-year-old “Dancing on the Edge” actress said during her acceptance speech.
After her big win, she spoke to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, where she explained her headline-making speech.
“I was emotional, it was so unexpected,” she told Access backstage at the Golden Globes.
“I saw a camera man shooting in my direction, I thought is he looking at me? Or looking at someone over there?” she continued, explaining that she thought her category was coming much later in the evening. “And I heard my name. I went into that state you go into when you’re in shock.”

Though she mentioned her mother in the speech, she told Access that she was not holding back tears or emotions.
“I didn’t think of anything, I just thought, I’m really happy, pleased,” she explained.
Looking back on her decades-long career, Jacqueline said that she’s proud of the choices she’s made.

“It’s not an easy life as an actress. It’s a lot of battles that go on to exist as a woman, we all have our woman things,” she said. “I was determined to not do rubbish.”
Adding, “I’ve had a few rough years. It’s not been easy, but I keep working, but I say not to things that I feel I can’t bring something unique to, I don’t want to be generic actress. I don’t want to do things that everybody can do.”
