Jamie Foxx apologized to Miley Cyrus Tuesday night on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” for his off-color remarks he said about the teen star over the weekend on his radio show.
Leno asked the actor, “Did you say something inappropriate?”
“Yeah,” he admitted before taking a deep breath. “I so apologize to [Miley], and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.”
Over the weekend, Jamie said Miley should, “make a sex tape and grow up,” during his Sirius satellite radio show, the Associated Press reported.
The actor was also reportedly heard saying: “Who is Miley Cyrus? The one with all the gums? She need to get a gum transplant!”
Jamie explained his comments were part of the show’s format and style.
“I have a radio show…We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart,” he continued.
“The Soloist” actor then looked directly into the camera and said, “Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”
