Janet Jackson Steps Out Of Running For ‘X Factor’ Judge’s Seat

Weeks after she shied away from addressing Anderson Cooper’s questions about possibly joining “The X Factor” as a judge, Janet Jackson has revealed she’s out of the running.

In a statement to E! News, Janet said she isn’t available to take a seat alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on Season 2 of the FOX reality show.

“[I’m] very flattered that ‘X Factor’ let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn’t be possible,” Janet’s statement read.

The pop star’s rep said she was busy promoting her “Number Ones Up Close and Personal Tour,” and an upcoming Tyler Perry movie.

In recent weeks, other names that surfaced in rumors as potential replacements for Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas first lady Fergie.

A rep for FOX had no comment on the Janet news.
