Jasmine Fiore’s Mother: Ryan Jenkins’ Suicide ‘Brings Some Closure’

The news of Ryan Jenkins’ apparent suicide on Sunday in a motel in rural British Columbia has brought some closure to Jasmine Fiore’s family.

Jasmine’s mother, Lisa Lapore, and Jasmine’s former boyfriend, Robert Hasman, appeared on NBC’s the “Today” show Monday morning and discussed how they’ve been handling the tragic events surrounding the death of the 28-year-old model, who was found on August 15, in Buena Park, Calif.

“It brings some closure to what’s been going on. We don’t have to worry about looking for him anymore or being worried that he’s a threat to any other women or men,” Lisa told Ann Curry during the interview. “We still have a long process of closure.”

Lisa said she felt Jenkins — the former “Megan Wants A Millionaire” contestant — wanted the success her daughter had attained and would go to great lengths to get it.

“This man was a professional con man. He targeted women I believe,” she continued. “He wanted to be something that he wasn’t. And I think he wanted to be and have what Jasmine had… he was a fake.”

A former boyfriend of Jasmine’s, Robert Hasman, said he felt “mixed” about Ryan’s suicide.

“I was happy that Ryan was… that he killed himself,” he said during the interview. “I really don’t know how I feel right know. I have mixed emotions.”
