Jean Dujardin’s Mom Not Happy About Actor’s Oscars F-Bomb

When Best Actor winner Jean Dujardin took the 84th Annual Academy Awards, stage he was overcome with emotion and excitement and the French equivalent of an F-bomb slipped out – something that his mother was not happy about it.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with Jean – the first Frenchman to win an acting Oscar – and his family at the Governor’s Ball following his big win.

“Over the moon, yes, I’m shocked,” the overjoyed actor said of his win for “The Artist.”

During his acceptance speech, Jean unleashed a barrage of French words, one of which is the French equivalent of the F-bomb.

“I don’t like, I don’t like [that] he said [it],” Jean’s mother, who accompanied her son along with his wife and brother, said with a laugh.

Backstage at the Oscars, Jean confirmed his verbal mishap and apologized, telling reporters that he had said, “It’s amazing, it’s incredible, it’s unbelievable. Thank you.”

His translator then clarified the question to Jean, prompting him to say with a smile, “Yeah. I’m sorry,” in regards to the profanity.

Best Director winner Michel Hazanavicius, who worked with Jean in “The Artist,” told Shaun at the Governor’s Ball that the actor’s incident was not really a big deal in their native country.

“It’s not really a bad word, we always say that in France,” he explained. “I think it’s, ‘Wow, [expletive,] we did it! I’m so happy! Something like that, or maybe, ‘Holly golly, I am so happy!’”
