Jenna Dewan-Tatum recently gave birth to her first child with husband Channing Tatum – daughter Everly, but she’s already back at work, filming a new drama for Lifetime –“The Witches of East End.”
“It is hard,” the new mom said on Friday at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour, of balancing work and her career as an actress on a new show. “It definitely is a challenge. … I’m getting more in the flow of things now, but it’s about switching the brain from, ‘Ok, now I’m mom.’ ‘Now, I’ve gotta go to set and be actress,’ and jumping into [my character], Freya, and then coming back and breastfeeding.
“It’s a juggle, but I sort of feel like every new mom who goes back to work feels this,” she added.

Jenna said she and Channing have been able to make it work looking after Everly, even though they both are working hard on different projects in different locations.
“Channing’s been amazing. He comes and visits me — he’s working at the same time right now, but we prepared for that,” she said. “We have a two week rule and we don’t break it so it’s a little crazy. It’s a little crazy at my house, but it’s good.”

In the series, “The Witches of East End,” coming to Lifetime in October, Jenna plays Freya, the witchy offspring of Julia Ormond’s Joanna Beauchamp (the series is based off of the book from Melissa de la Cruz).
Asked by one reporter if another member of the Tatum family could make a cameo in her new show, Jenna came up with a cute response.
“Which one? My daughter? Everly will not be in the show. She’s too young. I don’t know,” Jenna laughed. “Maybe we’ll sweet talk a certain little husband. Maybe he’ll come on and do – maybe he’ll do a bad guy. That’d be fun.”
