Jenna Fischer Hints At Trouble Ahead For Jim & Pam On The Office

Trouble is brewing for Dunder-Mifflin supercouple Jim and Pam.

In the most recent episode of the NBC comedy, “The Office,” Jim and Pam got in a fight over the phone after Pam messed up taping their daughter’s recital. A conversation that left her in tearms, the documentary crew caught Pam being comforted by the boom operator, played by “The Three Stooges” actor Chris Diamantopoulos.

“You learn that Pam knows the boom operator Brian and you’re going to learn more about the nature of their relationship in the upcoming episodes,” Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on Sunday night at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles, of what’s to come next.

“Jim and Pam are still struggling to be together, but there’s going to be an increase on that struggle,” Jenna continued, noting that Jim’s job out of town, and the pair’s struggle to deal with the distance, continue to provide challenges for the pair.

“It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it,” she added.

Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute in the show, said the comedy will continue to peel back the curtain, looking at the people – who, within the show have been filming the Dunder-Mifflin paper pushers – as “The Office” makes a run toward its series finale.

“The fourth wall is getting lifted from ‘The Office,’” he said. “We’re going to meet documentary crew members, they’re gonna become characters in the story and the documentary’s gonna air and the characters are gonna get to watch themselves on TV. So it’s all gonna be like this metaphysical mind trip.”

“The Office” airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.
