Jennie Garth On Dating & Moving On After Divorce

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli separated in 2012 after 11 years of marriage and three children together.

Now, the former “90210” star has written a new book, is about to head back to the small screen with Tori Spelling, and has begun dating again.

“I have been dating, yeah,” the “Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde” author told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent in a new interview. “I’ve had some great experiences with some really great men.”

While the actress has had mainly positive dating experiences since becoming single again, her main priority is herself and her career.

“I’m really busy right now and I feel like that’s such a selfish thing to say, but I mean I’ve spent all of my life working and making babies and raising children and, you know, living on someone else’s clock that right now, when I don’t have my kids — which is sharing custody with their father – when I have my time to myself, I’m really having like this major creative time,” she said. “I’m starting a production company and doing things that I’ve always wanted to do, and never thought that I would end up doing, but I’m doing them now.”

Adding, “I’m kind of being a little bit more selfish.”

Jennie also opened up about getting through the pain of her divorce, and said grieving and making changes is important.

“I think that for anybody that’s going through bad times in their life, it’s really important to let yourself just fall apart — it’s the putting yourself back together that’s really important,” she said. “And [not] just being able to put yourself back together, but to pick up each piece of you and look at it and put it back the way you want it — and not just the way it went. You know, kind of re-put yourself back together in a new way – [that’s] a good goal.”
