Jennifer Hudson Thanks ‘Family In Heaven’ After Grammy Win

Jennifer Hudson continued her triumphant return to the spotlight with a win at the Grammys on Sunday night.

Hudson took home the first award of the ceremony, winning Best R&B Album for her self-titled release, with Whitney Houston presenting the category.

“I don’t really know what to say. I’ve got Whitney Houston presenting me,” Jennifer exclaimed. “Wow, I’m just in awe right now.”

As she accepted her Grammy – the first of her career – she made reference to her family tragedy in October, which claimed the lives of her mother, brother and nephew.

“I’d like to thank God, who has brought me through. I would like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today,” a visibly emotional Jennifer continued. “I just don’t know where to start… everybody, thank you all!”
