Jennifer Lawrence ‘Getting Better’; Battles Illness While Winning SAG Award

Being sick wasn’t going to stop Jennifer Lawrence from showing up to accept her Screen Actors Guild award.

“I’m getting better,” the 22-year “Silver Linings Playbook” star, who took home the trophy for Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role on Sunday, told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the red carpet.

“I figured it was the flu. Like the day of the Globes, I woke up with like a hundred and something degree fever,” she explained. “Now I’m on an inhaler, which is actually awesome, because that was my dream when I was little. I wanted to have asthma so bad. So, I love this inhaler.”

When it came to getting the ailing actress ready for Sunday’s show, she enlisted an entire team!

“It’s always a real effort. There was like 25 people in my house. It’s always an effort,” she said of her glam squad who helped her step out in style in a blue Dior Haute Couture gown.

During Jennifer’s acceptance speech on Sunday, she thanked MTV for her first job that earned her a SAG card.

“I did a promo for MTV when I was 14. It was my first job. It was for ‘My Super Sweet 16,’” she told Shaun. “It was where I got my SAG card and my first $250 paycheck — and hopefully my last.”
