Jennifer Lopez Dishes On Those Emotional ‘American Idol’ Moments & Steven Tyler’s Compassion

Jennifer Lopez is relishing every moment of her new gig as one of “American Idol’s” Season 10 judges.

On Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, the music superstar revealed that so far, the experience — which has been filled with high-running emotions — has been a positive one.

“I think told you last time I was here how emotionally involved we are and how connected we get to the contestants,” Jennifer told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover via satellite from Access’ New York City offices, as she stopped by to reveal she has been hired as the first-ever global ambassador for Venus, the shaving brand. “Just to see them do well and everything — and even just some of them with their stories because they have their own children – literally, it breaks my heart and it moves me so much.

“I’m just loving the whole experience,” she added. “I’m loving be able to mentor the kids and help them through this experience.”

While some reality stars claim their good behavior gets left on the cutting room floor in order to create more audience-attracting drama, the “On The Floor” singer said she’s been satisfied with what she’s seen of herself thus far.

“Are you feeling good about the way you have been portrayed on the show so far?” Billy asked Jennifer.

“Yeah, I feel really good about it — I feel like it’s accurate,” Jennifer answered. “It’s how I am, how I feel. I think the weirdest thing for me was actually being on television and not having lines or not singing a song or not doing something that was totally prepared and just being myself.

“I mean, I do interviews and stuff like that and I get to be myself, but this is something that is just a whole different experience for me,” she continued. “I am very happy with how the show is. I think it’s really funny, really fun, really emotional… and I’m enjoying every second of it.”

Billy admitted to the Latina music diva that he cried his eyes out “like a little baby” during “Idol’s” second week when Steven Tyler spoke lovingly to “AI” hopeful Chris Medina’s wheelchair-bound fiancée, Juliana Ramos, and Jennifer was quick to sing the Aerosmith frontman’s praises.

“[Steven] is so loveable and adorable and very ‘heartful,’” she told Billy and Kit. “I don’t know how else to put it — he’s just that guy and actually Chris had told us in the audition that [Juliana] was a huge Aerosmith fan, a huge Steven Tyler fan… it just moved all of us to tears.”

Catch all of the action with judges J.Lo, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson on “American Idol” on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM on FOX.
