Jennifer Lopez: I Would’ve Danced With Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lopez says she didn’t mean to leave Jennifer Lawrence hanging on the dance floor!

After JLaw chided Jimmy Fallon during a recent “Tonight Show” appearance for making her “look like a freak in front of J.Lo” (when their plan to get the star to dance with them failed), Access Hollywood caught up with J.Lo to see if she recalled the “Hunger Games” star’s gaffe.

“This is how I remember it: I remember that we were at the Met Ball and Kanye was about to perform and it was like a crazy moment,” Jennifer told Access’ Liz Hernandez at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. “And then they came over, Jimmy Fallon, he started talking and I was with Benny [Medina] and Beau [Casper Smart] and then [JLaw] came over too. It was like they were a little group.

“And then she was like, ‘Let’s go dance,’ and I was like, ‘No, I’m good right here,’” J.Lo continued. “But I didn’t mean it like ‘I don’t want to dance with you.’ I just meant like, it’s so crowded in here let’s stay right here.”

The singer, who took home the Icon Award at Sunday’s show, said she would’ve loved to dance with 23-year-old actress.

“Absolutely. Come on! That would’ve been so sweet,” she said.

J.Lo also dished on her sexy fashion on “American Idol.”

“We have so much fun doing the makeup and the hair for that. It’s literally like I’m a Barbie,” she said. “It’s like, ‘What Barbie am I today?’”

As for winning Billboard’s Icon award, J.Lo said it’s “crazy and “so surreal.”

“I feel really humbled by the whole thing, and I felt very overwhelmed this week thinking about it and like, what I’m gonna say when I thank everyone. It’s just a crazy moment for me right now,” she said. “It’s like I feel like I’m a little bit in a whirlwind more than ever, and it’s exciting and scary and at the same time, I’m just trying to be in the moment and embrace it.”
