Jennifer Lopez ‘Tremendously Saddened’ By Death Of Selena Co-Star Lupe Ontiveros

Jennifer Lopez is remembering her “Selena” co-star Lupe Ontiveros, who died on Friday. She was 69.

“I am tremendously saddened by the news of Lupe’s passing! I’ve enjoyed her work throughout the years,” Lopez said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

“She was a great actress and working with her in ‘Selena’ was an unforgettable experience. She will truly be missed,” the statement continued.

The late actress played Yolanda Saldivar, the convicted murderer of the Tejano singer, who Lopez played on the big screen in 1997.

Ontiveros, who had battled liver cancer, starred in a slew of high profile films and TV series over the years including, “Desperate Housewives,” “As Good As It Gets” and “The Goonies.”
