Jennifer Love Hewitt was engaged to fiance Ross McCall just last year, but the actress already has her sights set on nuptials with new boyfriend Jamie Kennedy.
During an interview on Monday with Phoenix’s 104.7 FM’s Johnjay and Rich Show, Jennifer and Jamie set the record straight on rumors the “Ghost Whisperer” co-stars were already engaged.
“A rumor has come out that Jamie and I supposedly got engaged,” Jennifer said, explaining that reports of an engagement upset Jamie. “The poor guy was on fire. He was like, ‘No, no, no. That’s not true!’ I was like, ‘God, would that be the worst thing in the world?! Excuse me, but just for a second, there’s a line of people who would probably be OK with that [rumor].’”
“The thing is, people asked me, ‘Are you engaged?’ And I just said, ‘No, not at the moment, I’d be a very lucky man,’” Jamie explained, defending his reaction to the rumors. “And she got mad at me!”
Jamie then asked Jennifer is she had a timeline in mind when it came to getting married.
“A timeline? By this time next year, if we’re not planning something, then there’s a situation,” she added.
