Jennifer Love Hewitt has been granted a restraining order against a man she claims has been stalking her, Access Hollywood has learned.
In court papers obtained by Access, the “Ghost Whisperer” star was granted a three-year restraining order against David Nolte, who a judge ordered to stay 100 yards away from the actress.
An attorney for Hewitt was present in a Burbank court on the actress’ behalf on Monday, when the order was issued.
Nolte has been ordered to not “harass, attack, strike, threaten [or] assault” Hewitt or contact her in any way. The protective order also extends to Hewitt’s mother and her ex-fiance, Ross McCall.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, McCall and Hewitt called off their engagement earlier this month.
Unfortunately for Hewitt, Nolte is not the first time she has dealt with an alleged stalker.
In September 2003, Diana Napolis, then 47, pleaded guilty to felony stalking, after saying she believed the actress could read her mind and planned to harm her.
Napolis was treated for mental illness after being arrested for making death threats against Hewitt.
According to an Associated Press report at the time, Napolis confronted Hewitt at a July 2000 appearance at a San Diego radio station. Court documents indicated that she also yelled “Murderer!” and “Killer!” at the actress outside the Kodak Theater in Hollywood in 2002.
