‘Jersey Shore’s’ Snooki Was Reportedly Charged In 2004 Drunk Driving Death

“Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was one of three people charged in connection with the 2004 teen drunk driving death of Michael Truncali, Radar Online reported.

Truncali, 16 at the time, had reportedly been drinking at a party at the home of Snooki, 17 at the time, and her mother Helen Polizzi.

Following the party, Truncali rolled his car early Thanksgiving morning. He had a blood alcohol level of .18, which is more than twice the legal limit.

Snooki, who was reportedly selling alcohol at the party, was charged with “Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages.” According to police statements at the time, Helen was home during the party.

The teen’s parents, Michelle and Bill Truncali, spoke to Radar about the MTV star.

“She doesn’t care about what happened to our son.” Michelle said, but added, “We’re not out to trash Nicole. I never blamed her for what happened, she was a 16-year-old (sic). I blame others. I am not looking for those people to get arrested, I just want the truth.”

Bill questioned Snooki’s mother’s judgment at the time

“I just don’t feel that parents should allow underage drinking in their homes,” he told Radar.

The Truncalis, who reportedly decided not to pursue civil charges in the matter, said they have come to terms with their son’s death and accepted his responsibility in the tragedy.

But Bill questioned if everyone involved was truthful about the events of the night.

“I don’t feel like the whole story has come out; that remains our big issue. I want to see the truth come out,” he said, adding, “If this brings some exposure to the problem and if it stops this from happening to someone else, that is a good thing.”

Following the investigation, Ulster County District Attorney Donald Williams determined there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Snooki’s mother, but two other unidentified men were arrested for providing alcohol.

Access has reached out to “Jersey Shore’s” reps at MTV for comment on Snooki’s behalf, but has not yet heard back at this time
