Jessica Says “A Public Affair” Doesn’t Apply To Nick

NEW YORK (August 7, 2006) — Jessica Simpson doesn’t want you to get the wrong impression about the title of her new album. Simpson tells MTV that “A Public Affair” doesn’t refer to her ex-husband, Nick Lachey.

She says it’s about her partying with her girlfriends and forgetting all her troubles. There is one song on the album with a connection to Lachey. Simpson says she and her sister cried to Patty Griffin’s song “Let Him Fly” while her marriage was crumbling.

She covers the song on the upcoming album that’s due out August 29th.
