Ashlee Simpson-Wentz took the stage on Monday night to bring the Windy City to life in the Big Apple.
Ashlee made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” at New York City’s Ambassador Theatre on Monday night — and she had her family in the audience cheering her on.
“Roxie was all Heart!” sister Jessica Simpson Tweeted early Tuesday. “Watching her up on that grandiose stage made me the proudest sister in the world. I love ya honey, I love ya!”
The role was a return to the “Chicago” production for Ashlee, who previously starred in the musical in 2006 on London’s West End.
Also in attendance to help Ashlee celebrate her Broadway debut were husband Pete Wentz and father Joe Simpson, who along with Jessica, also attended the afterparty at Inc. Lounge in New York City.
