Jessica Simpson Talks New Boyfriend: ‘If Right Now Could Last Forever, I’d Take It’

It seems Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend of nearly six months, Eric Johnson, are getting serious – the two will spend Thanksgiving together on the East Coast.

“We’re all gonna be in New York,” Jessica told People magazine of her holiday plans with the former NFL star and Yale graduate, at a taping for her upcoming Christmas PBS special on Thursday. “I’m gonna be on a [Macy’s parade] float. It’s not always the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it’s a great way to celebrate.”

The singer/design mogul described Eric as her “best friend,” and she told the mag she was thankful that their relationship is “just normal.”

“He’s my dude! I love him,” she said. “He’s very, very supportive. [I] couldn’t ask for a better man in my life right now.”

As for whether the buxom blonde will make a second trip down the aisle, Jessica said she’s not rushing things.

“I never go to that because I already went there, so, I’m not gonna jinx my own self,” she told the mag, when asked if Eric is “the one.”

“He’s the one for me right now,” she continued. “I’m very happy, I’m in a great place and if right now could last forever, I’d take it.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the lovestruck couple is now free to take their relationship to the next level, as Eric’s divorce from his ex-wife, Keri, was finalized earlier this month.

Since Jessica and Eric were first romantically linked back in May, the singer has made no secret about her feelings towards her new man.

She has posted several photos of the two getting up close and personal on her Twitter page, along with several adoring messages.

“I met a wonderful man. Damn I’m lucky,” she Tweeted in September.

Jessica also Tweeted a photo of the pair kissing in July, with the caption, “Romance 101..getting kissed by my Yalie…me not lookin’ so smart…:) but YUM!”
