Jillian Michaels: Ready To Leave ‘Biggest Loser’ Behind For The ‘Front Lines’

Jillian Michaels is ready to leave her “TV’s Toughest Trainer” tag behind as she leaves “The Biggest Loser” following Season 11 for some pretty big life changes.

“It’s just — it’s time,” Jillian told Access Hollywood about her impending departure from the series. “I’m looking at the platform that I’ve been given, and I look at all of the things that I want to be a part of and I feel obligated to contribute.”

Jillian recently revealed she wants to have a family, but that’s not the only reason she’s leaving behind the hit NBC reality show, which changes lives by helping severely overweight people drop the pounds.

“I should be on the front lines, you know, I should be the one getting P.E. back in our schools; I should be working with my peers to get organic farm subsidies; I should be a part of making these solutions available to the people,” Jillian said. “It’s like, I was given a voice, I was given trust, I was given a platform and I feel like I should be doing more with it.”

Beyond helping to change things for America, Jillian, of course, wants some changes in her own home.

“I’m also 36 you know, and it’s time [to start] thinking about having a family,” she said. “I want to start focusing on that next year and so this is going to be it and I really hope it’s a good one.”

The newest season – Jillian’s last – on “The Biggest Loser” begins January 4 on NBC, and she’s thrilled for it’s continued success.

“I’m so happy that the show has resonated in such a way that it has gone 11 seasons,” she said. “I think that’s a real testament to the message the show was sending and I’m really proud to have been a part of it up until this point.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jillian first announced she was departing “The Biggest Loser” via a post on her Twitter account.

“Season 11 of Biggest Loser will be my last 🙂 have to finish out my contract,” Jillian wrote on December 7.

“I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work,” she wrote in a subsequent Tweet.
