The Los Angeles County Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter told Access that White was pronounced dead at 8:40 PM on Monday from a reported suicide.

According to the Assistant Chief, she was 30, despite reports that stated she was 28 at the time of her death.

Winter told Access he was given information from law enforcement that pills and a note were found near her body. He was unable to confirm what the note stated or if it was addressed to Carrey, who White met in 2012. White and the actor split after dating for a few months in 2012 and recently rekindled their relationship in May. Multiple reports have suggested the pair broke up again days before her death.

On Tuesday, Carrey released a statement to Access Hollywood following White’s death.

“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt,” the actor’s statement to Access read.

An autopsy is pending, as is a toxicology report, which is expected to take 10 weeks to complete.

When Access asked if White’s death could be ruled as a suicide due to an overdose, Winter said, “Not at this time.”

A source close to the investigation told Access that White was found unresponsive by at least one friend who went to check on her on Monday.

On September 24, White posted an eerie Tweet, which would be her last post.

On the same day, she also captioned a post on Instagram with a chilling W.B. Yeats quote.
